No you do not! The Kitchen welcomes anyone! Say you bought a ton of tomatoes at the Farmer's Market to can or make into pasta sauce and you don't want to mess your kitchen up. You're welcome to come here!
Upon using The Kitchen for the first time, we will need:
1. Your signed rental agreement
2. A copy of your VDH or VDACs permit if you will be actively selling the food you are making. If you are using the kitchen to test recipes while you wait for your inspection, you will provide a copy of your permit once completed.
Not a worry! Erin will meet with you to discuss what you will be making, and help guide you in the direction the permits you will need.
Erin also offers Small Business Mentoring. Want a faster and more direct route to getting your business started? For a fee, Erin will walk you through the entire process, ensuring you understand it along the way. If you become a member of The Kitchen, 50% of that fee will be credited back to you in the form of rental hours!
At The Kitchen, you are not charged for what you don't need. So everything is "a la carte" so to speak. Everyone who rents the kitchen must sign a rental agreement which outlines the rules and polices of conduct in the kitchen as well as your hourly charge when using The Kitchen. You can rent as many or as little hours as you want. There is no "use or loose" or "rollover". We will you for what you use.
Memberships are for those who use larger equipment or find they will be in The Kitchen quite often. Memberships allow for storage of dry goods, refrigerated or frozen ingredients. Members can choose one, two or all 3 options and are charged accordingly for what they use. Erin has really tried to make The Kitchen affordable, and in doing that, she tries to accommodate only charging for what is used, and nothing more.
A Pop Up will be allowed under your inspection permit, and allows you to actively make and serve food to customers. Think of it like setting up at a temporary event, only you aren't under a tent, you are inside your own kitchen!
This is the unique aspect of The Kitchen. When you rent it, the ENTIRE space is yours to use. You will have privacy, quiet and space to learn and grow in your business.
The Kitchen is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for rent. Need to come at 2am? We have specialized access permissions and 24 hour video surveillance both inside and outside of the building.

Once registered and all forms have been signed, you will be given a password for the booking page of this website that allows you to book time!
